Lightweight and practical

Weighing only 3.5kgs the Aton car seat is our lightest infant carrier and travel system, compatible with Mylo, Urbo, Sola, Rubix, Luna, Zoom and Glide. Absolutely gorgeous & Lightweight!!

I've swapped from the Primo V to this one and I'm amazedddd!! It's soooooo much lighter, the other one was just ridiculous it was heavy without a baby in it so you can imagine with the baby in!
This is stylish, cute and lightweight. Looks very nice on a chassis also :) love it!

There's not much to say about a car seat! It seems as strong & well built as all the others out there and a similar weight (car seats are deceivingly heavy you know! But guess that's needed to make them safe!)
The lady in the shop showed us how to adjust it so you can create more space in the seat when he gets bigger!
We use it with the isofix base which just makes it so easy!
Would really really recommend you get one - takes literally a second to put car seat in car! its fab!
And I attach it to the pram frame as a travel system when i'm out and about!

Does the job well but their is now a better one

This is a great car seat that ticks all boxes. It can even be used without a base which can be great for those impromptu car trips or mini cab journeys. It can also be used with adapters to be put on the excellent Mylo buggy and even the stunning Mylo stand. It looks fantastic too. We got the car seat foot muff for some extra warmth and comfort which fits this carrier perfectly.
However, there is already a newer model that is safer, for almost the same price. It is a bit like having a Ipad 3 when there is a Ipad 4.
Secondly, without the base it can be a bit flimsy but with the ISO-fix base attached, it is rock solid.
Perhaps Mamas and Papas could sell either a bundle package to save costs where the ISO-fix base and car seat come together for a more affordable price.
Similarly, it would be unique and great for the ISO-fix to simply be integrated into the car seat. That would make things easier.
All in all it is great, but has already been improved with the Aton 2.

great seat very very safe my little boy falls asleep as soon as hes in our cars!! not so easy on your back tho once baby gets to 14lbs or more but a good car seat

This is a good car seat. My little boy is 15 weeks and is happy in it. There is a issue with the hood and mamas and papas are more than aware of it. After 12 weeks of use our hood broke. When we were next in store we simply ask if they happened to know how to fix it, as it seemed easily fixed, without any question they ordered us a complete new hood which they would fit when it arrived. The only problem i have with this car seat is the cheap, badly designed hood. It really does let the car seat down. I wish now i looked at other brands. However, mamas and papas are happy to help..... Thank you!

I bought this car seat as part of the Sola travel system and am very disappointed with the purchase. My son is now 17 weeks old and is too big to fit the seat when the insert is in place. After removing the insert we have found that his back is not yet strong enough to hold him up so he ends up slumped in the bottom of the seat. He has done nothing but cry on any long journey (this could be due to other factors) but i think the fact he is uncomfortable does not help. I think we may have to consider buying another group 0 car seat to replace this as I dont think this will last until he is ready for a forward facing one. Very disappointed as I usually find mamas and papas products to be of a better quality.

I recently bought this car seat with the Sola travel system & its fantastic. I may not have baby yet but after spending hours testing other car seats this one was by far the best. Its the lightest I tested, ignore all the comments about the flimsy hood, surely you would check this before purchasing it? I made sure I tested & checked everything. So easy to attach to pushchair & to put into the car. Could not complain about it. Very lightweight & cute.

Good, for a short time.

This car seat was great, for a while. My little one grew out of the insert in 4 weeks, and then was very uncomfortable in the full size car seat for 2 months. By about 3 months old he was happier, but now, at 6 months, he has outgrown the car seat (his head is over the top of the car seat).
Unfortunately this now means that we have to buy a new baby (group 0) car seat to do him for 3 months until he's heavy enough to go in the group 1.
Its a very good car seat, but useless if, like us, you have a tall baby (75th centile)

I have just returned my car seat for a refund. The hooks on the hood snapped the first time I used it, and today I noticed that at the side there was damage, a chunk of polystyrene was hanging off!
This car seat feels flimsy and poorly made. I would not use again.
I have since purchased another brand which luckily fits my car seat adapters for the sola pushchair and it looks much more sturdy and safe.

Good for newborn, less so as baby grows

I have mixed views about this seat - when our daughter was newborn it was perfect, lovely and snug and she was very comfy in it and slept well. It's light compared to other seats on the market and goes very well on our Sola pushchair. However, when she got to about 12 weeks she'd outgrown the baby insert (she's a smallish baby - 25th-50th centile for height and weight) but the seat was way too roomy without it and I felt she was seated awkwardly and not very secure, especially round ever head which used to lollop around. We bought a lambskin liner which helped made it more snug but she never seemed very happy in it. It fitted her much better once she was around 6 mths and lasted well til she was 11 mths but she's really outgrown it now as her head reaches the top of the seat and she's quite squashed so I have no idea how it'd last a baby until 15mths as she's only 9Kg -plus it'd make the seat way to heavy to carry! We're now having to move her to a forward facing stage 2 seat. Agree with other reviews that the sun hood is rubbish - not big enough to do any good and very flimsy - our keeps coming away from the plastic. To end on a positive, I should say, it is really easy to fit with just the seatbelt and v secure so don't feel you have to buy the Isofix base (we did and I regret it as never felt v happy with it and recently even took it out and just used with seatbelt.)

My son is nearly 5 months old now and I feel like this car seat is coming to its useful end. It will never last until its stated up to 15months. My son is a big lad now, his head is still within the seat and his feet only slightly overhang, but this is not the issue, its how cramped it is, the width. He get so hot now and agitated, looking as if he trying to sit up more. It's great for newborns and those early days, but for us, as soon as that insert had to come out at about 3 ish months he's never been comfortable. Results in a very slouchy position. We've used it from day 1, looks good on the pram, came with raincover , hood is useless- protects from only minimal sun or wind. My other issue is the bigger and heavier your baby gets the more difficult and uncomfortable it is to get the seat on and of the pram, with the side, push attachment clip things. My hands hurt from doing that manoeuvre daily....Time now to look for a new car seat for us.

Not bad but hood could be improved

This car seat is lovely and cosy for my new born (one week old) and looks really stylish too. The only problem I have had is the hood was broken by my little boy age 6 messing about with it.
I would have thought for the price the hood would have been a lot more sturdy and well made.
It is a flimsy hood and doesnt go up far enough to keep and wind or sun out of babies face. I removed it completely as its not much use anyway.
However I would still recommend it as it is easy to fit into nearly any car (depending on length of seat belt) and my lil one loves being in it already, he also seems to have a lot of room to grow.

Bought this car seat as part of the Sola travel System. I am very pleased with the car seat. At first I was concerned with the way the seat belt went across the lap and wasn't sure how long it would last before my son got uncomfortable and wondered if it would restrict his movement - but this has not proved to be the case.
There are alot of reviews saying this car seat will not last. However, my son was 8.12oz at birth and 60cms long!! Now, at 9 months I would say he is just an average size baby (he weighed nearly 19 pound at his eight month check) and I have no plans any time soon to replace the car seat. Though his feet dangle off the end, once strapped in, he does not look uncomfortable and he is free to move his legs if need be.
I think the car seat is great and I think anyone will have a hard job to find an infant car seat which doesn't mean a older babies feet dangle off the end - surely this is expected as the baby grows??
highly recommended. Feels safe, looks nice - great purchase.

On the plus side: Seat felt robust and supportive. Good that you can use it as part of a travel system (with the adaptors). On the downside: The seat is heavy. The sunshade is flimsy & kept coming apart. The baby gets very hot in the seat as it is quite enclosed.

I actually have this in the Truffle to go with the Sola push chair in the same pattern. I have had this since birth, my son is now 6 months, and I think its a nice sturdy seat. He likes being in there and seems comfortable. We put it in using the seatbelt, which is really easy and feels very safe. I have seen other reviews saying the hood isn't great, and I have had times where is comes away but not loads. I agree the rain cover should be provided, but its not a huge issue. The only downside I really feel is that I am certain it will not last as long as they say, up to 15 months, as my son already looks like he could easily outgrow it in a few more months, but all in all I like it.

Great, easy to use car seat

I have been using this car seat with my son for a year now. It has been fantastic. Right from the first time we used it, it has been a doddle to use. It is nice and snug for a newborn due to the padded insert and even when he outgrew this (after quite along time!) the seat was still comfortable for him, so much so he would often fall asleep in it! The ability to rock the seat as it has a curved base helps somewhat! The material is easy to take off for washing and washes well with no loss of colour, and just as easy to put back on (start at the top.) I used this with the Sola pushchair using the adaptors, again so easy to place onto the pushchair and off again. The sun hood was handy, and the fact you just have to lift the grey part up for it to go back is great as you can do it one handed! I am going to miss using this seat as my son is beginning to outgrow this, on that note, I would recommend this seat to anyone, it is functional, has done its job for a year now, looks great and unique in design!

First car seat purchase

First baby, first car seat. Don't have anything to compare this to, but these are my thoughts after 6 months of use:
Looks good
Sunshade is fine (haven't experienced the difficulties that other reviewers have)
Feels sturdy enough - and I believe that ALL car seats are unwieldy and heavy
Seems secure in the car without Isofix base (although haven't, thankfully, had to put it to the test)
Fits very well onto Sola pram and looks good (although I do note comments about rain cover and agree that this should come with rain cover at the price)
Easy to clean
Baby does get hot and sweaty in it, and no doubt agitated because of the non-breathable fabric
My big gripe with this though is the straps that I am constantly untwisting at the back. Hugely annoying.
I also feel that my baby's head and neck are very unsupported and even at 6 months old I worry about her neck and airways being compromised when she falls asleep. When she was tiny I used to try and prop her neck/head and even resorted to holding it whilst sat in the back. My friend has a Maxicosi seat and her baby somehow looks less scrunched up. At 6 months old my baby's feet are hanging over the end of the seat now, too. I can't help feeling that i was slightly seduced by the package rather than shopping around and buying the most secure product.

looks very nice,and lightweight, but i have to say a disappointing purchase, my baby is 4 months , he looks uncomfortable in the seat, his shoulders only just fit, he gets very warm and sweaty and becomes agitated and upset if he his sat in the seat for more than 25 minutes.
we will be looking around for a new car seat in the next few weeks.

Ive read through some bad reviews and decided to post mine because I think this has been a brilliant purchase!!
My daughter was 8lb 15oz, and 56cm in length when born and she still snuggly fits into this at 4months even though she is now a huge 16lb 15oz, and was measuring 62cm at 6 weeks old so obviously shes longer now! The hood is abit of a pain but as a previous owner of a maxi cosi carseat for my first child i can honestly say its alot better then that carseat was.
You can easily remove the covering to wash and put back on, and i bought the adaptors to fit onto the sola pushchair which have been invaluable!
You dont get a raincover included... but neither did i with the maxi cosi, i bought one for a fiver on ebay.
The colour is just beautiful and everybody compliments it.
Overall its a great carseat, and one of the best available. Had no problems with it... and would buy it again. Plus I love mamas and papas customer services... Alot better then the after care u receive from mothercare.
